Strong Men United As 1 (SMUA1)- is Seeking a principal of 5 male fitness (men of color) models to represent the United States at the Men Of Color Upgraded Team Competition 2024. At this international competition the 5 selected team members will compete against models from other countries for the gold medals, monetary donation, photo & video shoots with international, and local photographers, travel & lodging stipend, and more. If you are selected as the top 5 to represent the US team flights to/from the competition will be provided, lodging, food, wardrobe (yours to keep), and much more. Men of color fit models  play a key role at SMUA1 as we help enlighten, and educate the fashion world that men of color models, are just as beautiful, health educated, and talented just as any other models. SMUA1 will host a casting call for interested fit/runway men of color on date TBA soon. 

NOTE: The large monetary gift will be awarded to the winning team of the competition- If the US team doesn't place 1st a  small monetary gift will be given to each team member as a token of thanks. ​

Interested models must.

​

• Be 18 years of age or older to compete.

• Be physically fit  Note: This is not a bodybuilding competition. Muscular athletic look is the preferred body type.

• Be photogenic, and appealing to the natural eye.

• Have some knowledge about the modeling industry. If no knowledge be willing to learn all the basics. 

• Always remaining professional at all times.                  

• Be confident, and authentic about your looks, and body.

• Have great body Hygiene. 

• Have a great smile, and personality.

• Be able to work, and our respectable to others (which includes staff, teammates, and photographers).

• Be open minded to all new ideas. 

• Be willing to work with all types of photographers, both armature and well experienced.

• Have no issue with being nude around your fellow teammates while changing garments in an open scenery, or have any issues of being critiqued, and or complemented from judges, and photographers.

• For rehearsals/tryouts bring 4-5 different pairs of underwear, 1 pair of jeans that fit your waist without a belt, 1 pair of sweat pants, T-shirts, and a pair of flip flops (optional) Note: Other personal garments can be brought along for daily use.

• Be able to attend the rehearsal/tryout weekend. Individuals flying in for the rehearsal/tryout weekend are expected to cover all of your travel expenses.  Note: Lodging will be provided for all parties traveling in for the rehearsals/tryouts.

• Be able to stay in Chicago for 3-4 days for rehearsals, photo shoots, and team challenges.  Note:  If you are one of the selected to proceed to the next stage, transportation to/from the hotel will be provided. Note: There are eliminations in the competition, and you could be sent home at anytime.

• Be be a Model of Color -Black (African American), Latino, and Other.
